Sony BRAVIA 9 II and 9 II Pro

BRAVIA 9 II

Sony's 2026 flagship. Sony calls it True RGB: separate red, green and blue LEDs in the backlight, which Sony says keeps color accurate at high brightness. Every size except the 115-inch has Sony's anti-glare screen for a bright room. Sony's X-Wide Angle Pro keeps the picture accurate from seats off to the side. Sony makes it in 65, 75, 85 and 115-inch class sizes.

Sony BRAVIA 7 II Pro

BRAVIA 7 II Pro

The same True RGB backlight and processor as the 9 II (Sony), and a 98-inch size the 9 II does not come in. Its screen is glossy, so a lamp or window facing it will reflect. The 9 II adds Sony's anti-glare screen, more brightness and more speakers: for most living rooms, choose the 9 II.

Who a BRAVIA suits

The rooms and the viewing a BRAVIA is built for.

  • Bright rooms

Sony built the 9 II's anti-glare screen for bright living rooms.

  • Daylight on a full screen

The 9 II keeps its brightness across a full white screen, where an OLED has to dim.

  • Long hours of sport and news

Score bars and channel logos sit still for hours, and an LCD does not suffer burn-in. Sony's Voice Zoom lifts the commentary over the crowd noise.

  • Very big sizes

Up to 115 inches in the 9 II and 98 inches in the 7 II (Sony). The 115-inch 9 II has no anti-glare screen.

  • Sound from the TV itself

Sony lists 8 speakers and 80 W in the 9 II, with up-firing Beam Tweeters (not on the 115-inch): big sound by TV standards.

  • DTS:X films

Sony lists DTS:X on both lines. LG's and Samsung's flagships do not support DTS.

What people on Reddit said

BRAVIA or OLED?

  • Side seats: X-Wide Angle Pro helps, but an OLED still holds color and contrast better from the side.
  • Bright objects on black: an OLED lights each pixel on its own. The 9 II can show a faint glow around bright objects in dark scenes, most visible from an angle.
  • Gaming: only two of the four HDMI ports run at full HDMI 2.1 speed, and one of them is the soundbar's eARC port.
  • Depth: a backlit TV is thicker and heavier than an OLED. The 9 II's matte screen also looks a little greyer when it is switched off.

If you game on two consoles and want a soundbar, tell us. We plan the ports before the install.

The install

A stand is in the box; the wall bracket is a separate Sony accessory, so we bring the mounting hardware for your wall type. The 85-inch 9 II Pro weighs 106 lb without its stand (Sony): we carry it in, hang it and hide the cables where the wall allows.

One customer asked us: "I'm supportive of the Sony Bravia 9 — do you recommend the 65 inch or 75 inch?" The answer depends on how far you sit. Our viewing distance and size guide works it out.

Sebastian and Josie were absolute professionals and gentlemen. Josue arranged the appointment and kept on top of scheduling. It was seamless and the work was done the next day. Sebastian was a superstar. My TV had already been mounted but there were wires all over the place which were driving me crazy. He practically made the wire’s disappear. He then put my Roku behind the TV and connected the sound bar. He said I didn’t really need cable box bc Spectrum has streaming. I’m saving 40 dollars a month now. I have a hearing impediment and Sebastian set up my phone with Roku app so that I can now listen to sound with earbuds. The sound bar is awesome. No complaints from neighbors about noise now. I had 4 different remotes now I only need one. I’m no longer confused about operating the system. I was so lucky to have found TV Guys. I’d give them a six bit rating only goes up to 5🙂

I had an excellent experience from beginning to end! Cristian, the sales representative, was professional, friendly, and made the entire process simple and stress-free. He clearly explained everything and made sure I received exactly what I needed. Alejandro, the technician, did an amazing job mounting two TVs in my home. He arrived on time, worked carefully and efficiently, and made sure both TVs were perfectly positioned, level, and securely installed. He was respectful of my home and left everything clean and organized. The customer service and quality of work were outstanding. Questions, answered

Choose the BRAVIA 9 II for a bright room, long hours of sport or news, or if burn-in worries you: an LED TV does not suffer burn-in, and a reflection barely shows on its screen. Choose an OLED for a dim room, wide seating or serious gaming: an OLED still wins on side viewing and on black detail. See every OLED we sell.

No. It is not an OLED: Sony's spec table lists an LCD screen with an RGB LED backlight, which Sony calls True RGB. None of the Sony TVs we stock is an OLED.

It is Sony's name for a backlight with separate red, green and blue LEDs instead of white or blue ones. Sony says this gives a wider color range and less blooming (the glow around bright objects).

The 9 II. It has Sony's anti-glare screen, more brightness and more speakers, so it holds up with windows facing the screen. The 7 II Pro has a glossy screen; choose it when you want the 98-inch size.

The Pro model carries a longer warranty than the standard Sony manufacturer warranty, and more Sony Pictures Core movie credits. The screen is the same.

The BRAVIA 9 II, with its anti-glare screen. The exception is the 115-inch, which Sony makes without that screen.

It is not in our catalog today. The models on this page are what we stock. Call us to ask about a model not listed here.

Yes, on the TV's eARC port. On the BRAVIA that port is also one of its two full-speed HDMI ports, so plan the console around it. See Sonos.

TV mounting starts from $175. Your final price depends on the services and options you choose (TV size, wall type) plus the distance from Midtown Manhattan. You'll see the estimated total before you submit your booking request.
