What makes the W6 different

The thinnest TV we install, and what that means on your wall.

  • 9.9mm thin

    9.9mm thin, per LG's spec. LG calls it "The 9mm Ultra-Thin Wireless Wallpaper TV". The 83-inch weighs 49.6 lb and the 77-inch 44.5 lb, without a stand (LG).

  • One cable to the screen

    That cable is power. Your cable box, consoles and streamer plug into LG's Zero Connect Box, which sends the picture to the screen wirelessly. LG says the box must sit within 30 feet of the TV.

  • Two power outlets

    LG's page says the TV and the Zero Connect Box each plug into the wall. That means one outlet behind the panel and one where the box lives.

  • The G6 picture engine

    The same picture as LG's flagship G6: 4K OLED, up to 165 Hz for gaming and Dolby Vision. The box has four HDMI 2.1 ports for your consoles and soundbar (LG).

The install

The power cord leaves the panel near the bottom edge, so a flat-to-wall look needs a recessed outlet behind the screen. On drywall that is our in-wall power and hidden cables service, from $599. On plaster, brick or concrete we cannot run cable inside the wall, and we tell you so before you buy.

Before the install day

Three things to settle first.

  • A flat wall matters

    LG's own note: "Depending on installation environment, there may be a slight gap between the TV and the wall." Tell us if yours is uneven when you send the request and we shim the mount so the panel sits true.

  • Where the box goes

    LG says the box can sit up to 30 feet from the TV. Keep it in the open, on a shelf or in an open cubby next to your game consoles. We do not promise it will work from inside a closed cabinet.

  • The outlet for the box

    The Zero Connect Box needs its own outlet, and LG says the box must sit within 30 feet of the TV. Pick its spot before the install day.

W6 or G6?

Same picture engine, two ways to hang it.

  • Pick the W6

    For the thinnest look on the wall, with only a power cord at the screen. You add a second outlet for the box, which sits within 30 feet.

  • Pick the G6

    For the same kind of panel with everything plugged into the TV itself, more sizes (LG makes it from 55 to 97 inches) and no second outlet.

    Sebastian and Josie were absolute professionals and gentlemen. Josue arranged the appointment and kept on top of scheduling. It was seamless and the work was done the next day. Sebastian was a superstar. My TV had already been mounted but there were wires all over the place which were driving me crazy. He practically made the wire’s disappear. He then put my Roku behind the TV and connected the sound bar. He said I didn’t really need cable box bc Spectrum has streaming. I’m saving 40 dollars a month now. I have a hearing impediment and Sebastian set up my phone with Roku app so that I can now listen to sound with earbuds. The sound bar is awesome. No complaints from neighbors about noise now. I had 4 different remotes now I only need one. I’m no longer confused about operating the system. I was so lucky to have found TV Guys. I’d give them a six bit rating only goes up to 5🙂

Yes. LG puts a flush wall mount in the box, and no stand. We use the mount LG supplies, or other compatible mounting hardware if you prefer something different.

LG says within 30 feet. Pick its spot before the install day and we plan the outlet for it.

Usually two: one behind the panel and one for the box. On drywall we add the outlet behind the TV with our in-wall power and hidden cables service, from $599.

LG lists the same processor, refresh rate and HDR formats for both. It is the same kind of panel.

Yes, with the right anchors for the wall. The cable cannot go inside plaster or brick, so the power cord runs in a paintable cover instead.
