The Beaux-Arts commercial-to-residential conversions in the Flatiron District share characteristics with SoHo and Tribeca lofts: thick masonry exteriors, deep floor plates, and interior walls that were added during conversion. We assess every wall before drilling and carry hardware for masonry, concrete, and modern drywall scenarios on every truck.
The newer residential towers around the Flatiron Building and along Broadway have modern metal-stud drywall construction — much more predictable but still requiring the correct stud-finding and anchor technique for a secure mount. We use digital stud finders and probe with a pilot hole before committing to the final anchor position.
