Best TVs for Wall Mounting (2026)

Not every TV looks great on a wall. These are the ones we recommend to customers who want a clean, professional result.

Every TV can technically be wall mounted — they all have VESA holes on the back. But some TVs are designed specifically for wall mounting and look dramatically better than others. The difference comes down to profile thickness, cable management, and how the TV looks when it is turned off.

OLED TVs are the thinnest option, often under 1 inch at the slimmest point, and they sit nearly flush against the wall. Samsung Frame TVs are purpose-built for wall mounting and display artwork when the screen is off, so the TV looks like a framed painting. Standard LED and QLED models work fine on the wall but sit further out and look more obviously like a TV.

We mount every type of TV across NYC apartments, and the single biggest factor in how good the final result looks is cable management. A $3,000 OLED looks terrible with cables dangling down the wall. The TVs in this guide are the ones that make it easiest to achieve a clean, professional installation.

Our Top Picks

What to Look For

Panel thickness — OLEDs are the thinnest at under 1 inch. QLED models with AirSlim designs are close behind. Standard LED models can be 2 to 3 inches thick. Thinner panels sit closer to the wall and look more like they belong there.

Cable routing — Samsung Frame TVs solve cables better than any other TV with the One Connect Box, which puts all ports in a separate box connected by a single slim cable. LG Gallery Series TVs have recessed rear panels that channel cables downward. Standard TVs have ports that stick out sideways, making cables visible.

Art and ambient modes — Samsung Frame displays artwork when the TV is off. LG Gallery Series has similar ambient display features. Hisense CanvasTV offers a matte canvas texture for artwork display. These features matter in living spaces where the TV is the visual centerpiece of the wall.

Weight — OLED TVs are lighter than LED models of the same size, making installation easier and putting less stress on the wall. A 65-inch OLED weighs 40 to 50 pounds versus 55 to 70 pounds for a 65-inch LED.

VESA pattern — Confirm the VESA pattern before buying a mount. Samsung Frame TVs have a recessed VESA pattern that does not work with many third-party mounts. The included Slim Fit mount is designed for it. LG and Sony use standard VESA patterns.

NYC Apartment Considerations

Samsung Frame TVs are our most-requested installation in NYC apartments. The art mode makes the TV blend into the room, which matters when your living room is also your office, dining room, and entertainment center. The included Slim Fit mount sits the TV just 7.5 millimeters from the wall.

The Samsung One Connect cable that comes with Frame TVs is not rated for in-wall installation. If you want cables hidden inside the wall, you need the Samsung VG-SOCM15U in-wall cable, which costs around $200 but is UL-listed and code-compliant. We always use the in-wall rated version for professional installations.

OLED TVs are ideal for NYC apartments because they are lightweight and thin. In prewar buildings with plaster walls, lighter TVs put less stress on the mounting hardware. A 65-inch OLED at 45 pounds is much easier to mount safely than a 65-inch LED at 65 pounds.

Ventilation is important — leave at least 2 to 3 inches of clearance between the back of the TV and the wall for heat dissipation. Samsung Frame TVs are an exception because they are designed to run cooler and the Slim Fit mount positions them at 7.5 millimeters safely.
